Nolan The Ninja, Fatt Father, and John Panich Put On For Detroit

Detroit Hip-Hop is like a never ending ocean of quality music. So many different styles, feels, and textures to the music that molds the city and with a lot of new stuff coming out of the city within the last two weeks, three individuals have definitely proven that the Motor City can not be put into a box with a range as endless as the D’s. So I took some time to rep the city and give artist the respect they deserve.

Nolan The Ninja drops “The Ill Sh-t”
This 14 track project establishes a certain sound through out. That fuzzy, dirty, dungeony sound giving you that feeling of Hip-Hop we all loved in the early nineties but with out being cliche and out dated. Nolan is easily turning heads in the city with this type of production and with the rest of his crew Verbal Vomit which includes Chavis Chandler as well.

Fatt Father Releases video for “My Kids Need A Coat”
Music does not get much realer than this. The Father is back with a new visual directed by Mario Khalif Butterfield and produced by Big Tone. Welcome to the grim reality that is often the usual in the streets of Detroit. If you lived in MoTown this winter you know first hand this Michigan winter is nothing to take lightly. Your kids need a coat, so go get it!

John Panich Presents Mini-Movie “John Panich Is Dead”
**WARNING** This is for a mature audiences only. This visual has some sick and twisted scenes that many may find disturbing. Even strong Sexual references and brief nudity. With that out the way, this is by far one of my favorite music videos, ever! JP from the HP put his stamp on the world of music with this disturbed masterpiece. Lyrics are dope, flow is dope, hook is awesome and catchy sung by Joe Average, and this video directed by Colin Duerr will blow your mind and what ever competition is has out of the water.

It has been a great week and a half in Detroit as far as Hip-Hop goes. I can’t wait to see what else these gentlemen will bring us as well as the rest of the community. Also if your looking for some more new music, make sure to check out the new album “Gentleman Jack” from CMY’s own Kopelli! Here’s a video off that as well featuring Mic Phelps!

Mic Phelps Releases ba-Du-izm

After just recently dropping “Mic Phelps In The House Of Wax” Battle scene staple, One Fourth of Detroit Hip-Hop Unit Cold Men Young, and Mr. #DU himself Microphone Phelps has uploaded a small treat for listeners. The new free digital project entitled ‘ba-DU-izm’ is a small collection of Phelps’s quick-switch flows and always clever written lines on top of Erykah Badu instrumentals mostly from her R&B/Neo-Soul classic “Baduizm”. Definitely on the chill tip, so sit back and roll one up and let your mind unwind yet let it wrap around to the dope lyrical creativity. And also make sure to look out for Phelps’s cameo on the upcoming Beyond Physics project brought to you by Valid and JMac.
